Jenny Camper offers more than 30 years of experience in strategic communications services, including statewide media relations, government relations support, coalition development and activation, as well as community relations and public education campaigns.
Under her leadership, the Columbus office of Lesic & Camper Communications works with corporations, non-profits, national and state professional associations, statewide issue campaigns and government agencies. Clients include the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Pfizer, Walmart, Pearson Education, and Vertex pharmaceuticals. As an agency leader, Jenny has worked with a wide variety of clients for 25 years and is in her 18th year as co-owner of Lesic & Camper.
Jenny has built a solid reputation for crafting and executing effective statewide public affairs programs in Ohio. She builds and maintains deep relationships with media and key publics in every media market in Ohio. Jenny and the Columbus team are frequently tapped to join collaborative efforts to influence public policy at the federal and state levels. In particular, Jenny has built and activated many coalitions and advocacy groups to address public policy.
For PhRMA, Jenny leads the state alliance program at the state and federal level. Jenny represents PhRMA within Ohio’s bioscience industry and works with patient and medical provider groups to advocate for public policies that support access to medicines. In addition, Jenny leads special PhRMA initiatives around safe drug disposal and addiction recovery support, health and wellness outreach, and promotion of advancements biopharmaceutical innovation.
Jenny has served on the winning campaign teams for statewide ballot issues, including the 2017 No on Issue 2: Ohioans Against the Deceptive Rx Ballot Issue as coalition leader and campaign strategist. In 2002 Jenny was campaign manager for Ohioans Against Unsafe Drug Laws (OAUDL). In 2005, Jenny worked with opponents to the Tax and Expenditure Limitation Amendment, who ultimately stopped the TEL Amendment from advancing to the ballot. In 2008, Jenny worked on the grassroots team for the Ohio Coalition for Responsible Lending, which handily defeated a well-financed campaign and upheld a law that lowered interest rates of payday lenders. In 2012, Jenny was part of the Protect Your Vote Ohio campaign team that soundly defeated a flawed redistricting constitutional amendment.
For her work on the opening of Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Jenny was part of the team that received the Public Relations Society of America’s highest honor, the Silver Anvil award.
Prior to agency work, Jenny served as deputy press secretary and communications manager to former Governor George V. Voinovich. Jenny also served as press secretary and communications director for former State Treasurer J. Kenneth Blackwell.
Jenny graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University.
Jenny serves on the Board of Trustees for Alvis, a community corrections agency with facilities in Columbus, Dayton, Chillicothe, Lima and Toledo and currently serves on its public policy committee. She serves on the Board of Trustees for Prevent Blindness-Ohio, a statewide voluntary health agency.
